The fact Celine was a Muslim is irrelevant yet, it is made the most important factor in this article. Honour killings are a very complex issue and this article ceased to explore other far more important factors such as patriarchal cultural norms and values.

The issue is not the fact that Celine's partner was 'a different type of Muslim', but rather that he was not approved of by her family. He was of Arab heritage which her Indian family disapproved of for cultural reasons, not religious reasons.  It also seems that the label of 'Muslim' is used as a 'shock factor' to engage readers. However, honour crimes should not be written with such inappropriate and ignorant labels as this will only help to divide communities further.

This article fails to mention that honour crimes happen to British people. Celine was British, and honour crimes are hence a British problem. In the article, the overall mood depicts honour crimes as a foreign and irrelevant issue to British society, this attitude must be challenged and destroyed.
